ABLE Learning Center

Office Hours: Mondays 3 - 7 pm and Tuesday - Friday  8am - noon.
Services: ABLE Learning Center provides literacy assistance to those 16 years of age or older and not in school. There is no charge for the services or the materials. Volunteer tutors meet one-on-one in private sessions arranged to meet the schedules of the student and tutor.

Services: Individualized classes in basic academic subjects such as reading, math, and science to enable students to complete the high school equivalency diploma (HSE), enroll in higher education, or become employable. Fee: Free class, cost for exam.

Services: Free access to books, audiobooks, magazines, music CDs, newspapers, DVDs, electronic resources and other library material; ESL and Spanish language materials; consumer and government information; telephone and e-mail reference information; public access computers; story times for children; summer reading program for children, teens and adults; One Read community reading program; events and classes for children, teens and adults; tours; bookmobile service to rural communities, neighborhoods and licensed child care centers; home and nursing home visits for homebound persons; liaison with Wolfner Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped; eBooks, audiobooks, magazines, comic books, streaming music, TV shows & movies, continuing education classes, genealogy resources, yearbook archive and other online resources

Class Schedule: AM class: Tuesday and Thursday - 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. and PM class: Tuesday and Thursday - 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Class attendance requirement: 10 hours per month
Orientation: Before you can start classes, you must attend and complete orientation to be enrolled in the class you wish to attend. Orientation is 3 sessions and is offered at the time of the class you wish to attend, the am class or the pm class. To complete orientation, you must attend all three sessions, without missing a session, being late or leaving early. Orientation is first come basis only. Orientation will be offered monthly.
