Services: Home ownership classes offered to interested participants. Topics covered include how to invest money properly into a home, choosing the right home and learning about loan options. Eligibility: Based on availability of classes and interest in the community. Call resource office to inquire as to when classes are held. Home weatherization services to make home more energy efficient, thus cutting down on utility expenses. Eligibility: Total income of less than 150% of federal poverty guidelines. Written permission must be obtained by landlord, if home is not owned by applicant. Cannot be weatherized if home has already been weatherized since 1994. Fee: Free to those who qualify.

Services: House building ministry in partnership with low-income families; ReStore sells new and used building materials
Fee: Houses are sold to families with no interest on a 20 year mortgage; family must enter into partnership with Habitat and contribute 250-350 hours of “sweat equity” helping to build the
house.
Eligibility: Income within 30-50% of median income, need housing, willing to help build.

Our "First Place" loan program gives first-time homebuyers* the edge they need to purchase a home,
with cash assistance available.
Our MCC program provides income eligible first-time homebuyers* with an opportunity to reduce the amount
of federal income tax owed each year they own and live in their homes.
Our “Next Step” program gives first-time homebuyers as well as non-first time homebuyers the opportunity to purchase their own home with higher income limits and purchase price limits. It also gives the borrower the opportunity to receive cash assistance for down payment and closing cost assistance
If you are a qualified veteran, you do not have to be a first-time homebuyer* to qualify for our "First Place"
or "Mortgage Credit Certificate" loan programs (above).

USDA Rural Development’s Section 502 Direct Loan Program provides a path to homeownership for low- and very-low-income families living in rural areas, and families who truly have no other way to make affordable homeownership a reality. This program assists low- and very-low-income applicants obtain decent, safe and sanitary housing in eligible rural areas by providing payment assistance to increase an applicant’s repayment ability. Payment assistance is a type of subsidy that reduces the mortgage payment for a short time. The amount of assistance is determined by the adjusted family income.
